A volunteer from the Iditarod, the world famous dogsled race, recently contacted us. He needed to order safety vests in a couple of different colors. He said that he uses the different vests to identify other volunteers and to know what their job is at the race setup station. When everyone is preparing for the race it is hard to tell the difference between spectators, participants and those working the race so it is vital to easily recognize who is who.
Anyone can use this idea when organizing an event. Just use different colored vests for different jobs so that time is not wasted asking what each person is there to do. Lime and orange vests are generally in stock but other vests have to be put together so it is important to plan ahead and get your order in at least 2 weeks in advance to ensure that you get your vests on time.
