Nothing is much more fun than going to hear your favorite band in concert, but how would you feel if the music suddenly stopped? This could be the case if you don't protect your hearing when you go to a concert. Most people want to be right up in the midst of the action where they can feel the music, but your ears are getting the worst of it. Exposure to loud noises can damage hearing by harming sensitive hair cells in the ear, says James F. Battey Jr., MD, PhD, director of the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders. These hair cells move as sound waves travel through the ear structures, and the movement is converted to nerve impulses that are interpreted by the brain as sound.
Protecting your ears from damage does not mean you will miss out on the fun. Most companies that develop hearing protection know that is most important to protect from the damaging decibles however they also strive to make them as comfortable as possible Plus, you don't have to look goofy while wearing them if you wear a dark colored ear plug.
Don't stop the music by damaging your ears, keep them protected and ROCK ON!
